Map Sensor 1-2-3 bar?

Default Map Sensor 1-2-3 bar?

Guys i have a map sensor with absolutly no numbers on it, is there a way i can test it and see what bar sensor it is? thanks

Sure, plug it in and measure the voltage output. If its a 1bar it will be full voltage at atmospheric, and if its 2 bar it will be half(ish).

hey atomic can you give me a way to test it? i have to wire the sensor in where my old plug was, i turn the power on and where to i put my leads and what should meter read? thanks man.... If i understand properly if its a one bar with power to it ill have 5.0 volts and if its 2 bar ill have 2.5 ish? what would 3 bar be if this is correct

There are 3 wires on the map, 5v, ground, and signal. The 5v and ground should be easy to identify, and the signal wire is the other one, probably the one in the middle. You can just connect it to a 5v battery and measure the signal prong if you want to. With the sensor in open air, a 1bar will be around 5v, 2bar around 2.5v, and 3bar around 1.6v. I say around because there is a voltage offset and slope adjustment, but it should be close to those values. Put you positive lead on the signal wire, and negative on the ground wire.

Tried it on my 3 bar map sensor and got about .98V

Still have to ditch it for a 2 bar map though...
