I am using a Dell Latitude D400 and it works great and has a serial port which is very handy. I bought it used on Ebay for about 1/3 the price it cost new. Mind you I did have to buy a new battery so keep that in mind because they are not cheap.

I use my laptop for school (engineering) so its waaaay more than you need. i forget the model number but its 4GB RAM and 320 GB hard memory.

Vista really sucked getting the drivers to work, but now that everything is sorted its fine and it has a serial port whick is nice.
