Interceptor gauge?
#1
I just installed the interceptor scan gauge and I am trying to read it. I have no clue what some of the functions mean or what exactly I should be looking at. I am having trouble getting my nelson tune done right. Nelson reccommended I get this gauge. What should I be looking for and how do I know what a normal reading is? I drove for about 10 min watching the timing and retard today. I couldn't do any WOT runs but at about 60mph when it downshifts into drive I am getting up to 8* of knock retard and about 20* timing. When it shifted into OD it dropped to 15* but no KR. Just sitting idleing the timing jumps anywhere from 15*-35* and it read in the 40's going down the driveway. I don't know for sure but that doesn't sound right to me.

let him know what your o2 bank 1 and 2 read at WOT. should be around 920 for a safe A/F ratio. Also he needs to see timing and KR at WOT. ALSO let him know what your Air Intake Temps are while you are recording the other values.

you can just drive normal and punch it and get your values, just hold WOT for a few seconds but make sure you shut her down if your O2 reads 890 or below and if your gettingf knock retard shut it down quick and let your tuner know .

I haven't tried the record yet so I am not sure how it works. If I set the gauge to record, will it tell me everything I need to know or do I actually need to watch the gauge and write the info down?

Only mods are a cam and veraram intake. This morning I held it at WOT and got these numbers. Knock retard/o2 : 3.3/890, 3.6/875, 3.4/895, 3.3/890, 3.7/905 at 73*IAT. Nelson mention that he wanted to also see what the maf was reading. This afternoon I checked that. KR/maf lb/m : 7.5/28.99, 7.3/26.90, 7.2/28.99 7.9/22.69 at 104*IAT. The first run was started at 60mph and second at 40mph if it makes any difference. Is this enough info to give nelson a call or should I try to get more?

i have the same scan gauge. check ltrms on both banks under wot. record the number. check knock retard under wot. check the number. then look at timing and o2's under wot. report the data back to him. this gauge will record data but i haven't used it that way yet.
