Getting tuned tomorrow last minute questions
#21
Well basically they said they could do a street tune for 75 bucks. I was jumping up and down about it. I am on the way over the next day and the boss wont do it for less than 300. So I will not be going there. One of the mechanics there is one of my buddies neighbors and he is a nice guy, drives 4.8 and knows his **** but his boss is just a jackass I guess.
And Heath, I go to school in Statesboro Ill actually be in Savannah on Saturday. Big dyno day for a bunch of import guys and even some domestics are coming. Im PMin you prices

75 bux for a tune is too good to be true, and I honestly wouldn't trust a 75 dollar tune. 300 is a good deal for a custom tune btw.
I removed all TM and my shift settings are smooth as butter with no "harshness" at all in the shifts. I laugh at all the guys who have the shifts setup to pop your neck, that's what kills your 4L60E. I spent probably a good 3-4 hours of just transmission tuning to figure everything out, but now it shifts fast/smooth and it actually chirps the tires into 2nd gear. Anyways, TM removal definitely decreases the longevity of any transmission and that's why GM paid a lot of money for engineers to come up with TM tuning in their transmissions to prevent breakage and increase life. I'd say remove 80% to be safe. Once my trans starts slipping I'll be backing off TM until I can afford a FLT haha.
