Ok, my buddy has a 2001 Dmax 2wd.. it says it has 3.73s by the RPO.
but i found this in the TCM


and this in the ECM.



Whats up with that?

 

I'd post your question in one of the Diesel Fourums over at EFILive http://forum.efilive.com/. One of the more experienced diesel tuners might have run into it. However, to me it looks like the TCM has the {D5060} parameter value wrong.

3 different bone stock new Dmax all have this in the tune.. 2001, 2003, 2004.

 

If you want. set this parameter value to 3.72 and see what happens. I suspect that this parameter may control transmission shift characteristics somewhat. This parameter may affect when upshift occurs as it learns the vehicle shifting points.

Wonder why 3 factory trucks all have this in the ECM and TCM?
All 3 trucks have GT4 in the glove box..
