I see as of that tune file, you were running a COS? COS3 it looks like right? 2 things I noticed. One was you seem to be running extremely low spark advance. The high table showed like 12* for the max and low table showed like 8* for the max, then your IAT/Spark table was pulling timing at 120*. Seems very conservative, do you see alot of KR in your logs? Your BoostVE table seems way low too, like you are only running 3 or 4 pounds of boost or something. You show 1.47g/cyl at 145map/4400rpm....and I show like 1.78 at that same location with an AFR of 11.94. You are either running super lean, or not much boost.

I changed to HTP because I changed tuners. I havn't had time to tune so I've been getting dyno tunes. I have both programs now.
Your right on the boost. When it was getting dynod, the boost would not even pass 5psi & then drop right off, thats why this topic interests me. I have made some changes though and so far so good. But havnt re tuned yet.
I was getting heaps of KR as well.
I am currently running 69lhr injectors. Way off the scale!!! 9mpg. I have the multec 2s ready to go in with a 90mm LS2 TB & MAF.
Do you use MAF or SD, and a boosta pump??
I checked out your 1/4 mile runs (awsome) I would be lucky to get 14s with my tune.
I think I'm the only one in Oz with a SC L18. It's very difficult to push forward with the lack of knoledge on this engine.
I even spoke to allen nelson about it, but it was way to hard.
Ive attached an old efi log.

I am running a speed density tune with the MAF inplace. Yup, looks like you are pegging just a few less kPa than me and those log files look very familiar....LOL. I agree there are not a lot of facts out there on these suckers, so I just do a lot of "seat of the pants" tuning and it seems to be paying off. I can tell you this engine LOVES CAM2 (108+ octane). The KR absolutely disapears with that stuff all the way up to about 18* of spark advance. I still run the stock fuel pump with 42lb injectors and they seem to be holding just fine although I am at 99-100% IDC. Where are you located?

I'de be lucky to hit 55% tops IDC and I use a 98 octane from the pump.
I've been told though that the stock pcm can't control my oversize injectors efficiantly. What MPG you on?
It would be interesting to run your tune when I change out these injectors.
I'm currently @ 355RWHP. way under proposed HP.
What are your thoughts on a cam install? I was looking at a crane cam.

Yea, with those injectors Im sure your fine with IDC. I get about 10mpg or there abouts. I never really checked to be honest, doesnt really matter to me cause I only drive this thing a few times a month. You are right around the same RWHP as me then, according to my most recent dyno, it was on a mustang dyno so i know there are some conversions to do but i was suprised it didnt make more considering the ETs I have been getting lately. My RWTQ was over 500 hough... As far as breaking into the internals with a CAM, heads, or intake....well, I am pretty happy with it the way it is right now and not really wanting to tear into the engine. Giving my tune a try would work be interesting for sure as long as you had the same injectors.

Yep, I agree with the internals.
I'de say the high Tq is what gets it over the line that quick.
I might drop the new inj in this W/E, flash your tune over with my Trans & see how she rips.

Man you 2 have your own thread going on LOL.

talac when you say 69lhr, which inj are you runnng? I just recently got the motron 60#'ers (72.3 at 58psi) and tough to tune IMO..yes, but definitely tunable.

Whip, weather's been nice...have you checked that crank spin yet?!?!?!?

Yes, its definately spinning, if it wasnt, the pistons wouldnt be going up and down right?

J/K, I have not done the sharpie trick yet, but plan on it this weekend. Dyno logs showed similar results as the others....peaks at 146-148, then falls to 132-135 and stays there.

Not to sure of the injectors brand.
After a light cruise and I thump it, it kicks down and starts to cough and splatter and blows more black smoke than my old duramax.
Very embarrassing

Whipple 496, watch out for your crank balance

They just need a good tuning talac. Since you are running HPT can you post up your current HPT tune?
