got a question about the engine harness. my truck is a 2005 dbw 5.3 harness. can I swap to a 02 style harness and pcm for dbc. im not having any problems just trying to clean out the engine bay. the truck is body dropped and the big wheels take up a lot of space.

 

Short answer is no. 99-02 runs on class 2 data, your 05 runs on CAN bus. Different communication systems. The PCM wouldn't be able to talk to the rest of the truck.
