Default EFILive Transmission Shifting

Can i setup my transmission shifting so it only goes by RPM? Or does it HAVE to use MPH and RPM?

Both conditions have to be meet for the shift to happen. Just make sure your WOT MPH is lower then the RPM and it will shift at the RPM you select.

I think Dewmanshu is doing it and said it works great. I dont see why it wouldn't.

Just be sure to check your part throttle shift speed as well. There is a setting for 100% TPS, you need to make that 0 as well.
Since both rpm and VSS have to be met in order to command a shift the PCM will rely soley on rpm because the truck will always be above 0mph.
You could always just lower your WOT MPH settings by 30% or so and it wouldn't be an issue.

Ok, sounds good. I will try that.

Also, if i want to put my truck in first. I don't want it shifting into 2nd by itself. How can i fix that?

Thanks for the help guys. I'm slowly learning some of this stuff. Hopefully if i have the money this weekend i will be ordering a wide band. Then i can finally start doing some tuning.

I zeroed all of the WOT MPH cells. However i still can't put the truck in first and get up to around 30MPH before it shifts by itself.

Its killin me. I need to figure this out soon.

Shift kit i believe is the only thing that will allow the tranny to not do that. When i had my 60E, i did the transgo HD2 shift kit, and after that i could hold 1st gear as long as i wanted. Now that i did my 80E, i have a Superior Shift kit, and just tried it the other day, and it shifts to 2nd by itself. I'll have to look back at my tunes, but i'm 99% sure it's the shift kit.
