If i downshift from 2nd to first at about 20mph... It doesn't shift back to 2nd by itself... It seems like 1st gear only shifts into 2nd by itself based on throttle position.

No there's a table in the tune that tells it to shift even when holding it manually in 1st. It's only on the 1-2 shift though.

EDIT-I'm pretty sure it's d0913 in efi live. It's called "Manual hold gear, 1st 1>2 shift speeds. Mine is set on 410 kmh

Mine is set on the same thing.... However, right around 25mph it will shift into 2nd.

Its killin me. I need to figure this out soon.

I think all Chevrolet turbo 400 trannies have that built in to them. My 85 chevy when floored in first will shift (tear asphalt) into 2nd (WOT) 25-30 mph. stock and after the shift kit install ...

I actually just compared my old 60E tune to my current 80E tune. The only thing i have noticed, of course i have HPT, but in my normal table of part throttle mph everything looks as it should nothing special there like a 0'd out table, but in the performance mode of that same part throttle the mph is set to 50 mph, where my normal table WAS set to 35. So maybe if you make your MPH in performance table really high, then it will manually hold it, i'm gonna try it this weekend unless anyone else has someplace better to look. In HPT there is not section on Manual Hold or anything, i looked everywhere in the tranny section.
