I am about to start tunning on my 02 which has a modded LQ9 and 4L80E, it came with a 4.8 and 4L60E. Allen sent me an unlocked PCM and the vin is for a 1500 HD crew cab, can I and should I change the vin to my vin before saving the original tune file? Will it allow me to change after it lock to the vin?

 

The license locks to the internal serial number of the PCM, it does not mater what the VIN is. You can change it to what ever you want, when ever you want.

 

cool thanks, now all I have to do is learn how to tune this thing. I got a new intake and injectors, and gears will be in soon. That is why allen gave me my current tune unlocked so it would at least run.
