Default Edge vs. Diablo

Both companies make a programmer compatible w/ my truck. Which one gives better results? I like the fact that the edge comes with a dash pod but I am more concerned with the performance and reliabilty. Any opinions are appreciated.

I always thought you take a risk with custom tuning. The things changed might be more aggresive or not as aggresive as I want. With a programmer if you don't like a certain setup you have 3 other options at your fingertips. I am more concerned w/ reliability than a few HP or FT Lbs. here or there. Do yall think I could if I needed warranty work done on the truck I could get away w/ it with a non-stock tune?

with a hand held your kinda stuck with what they gave ya..ive never been impressed ive seen one actually lose 2 hp over the stock tune..if your worried about a custom tune search your area for a reliable tuner..and i prefer a custom dyno tune, it is the best you can get and will be prefered by every one here

I'd say hpt or efi with a good wideband. If you spent some time reading the tuning stickies on the various forums, and with some online help here and there, a complete tuning software is the way to go. You won't be limited by a handheld. Nor limited by mailorder if your not happy with the results. Both hpt and efi have forums as well...jmo Plus if you get another car or want to do a buddies car, you can tune it. As long as it's supported.

I'm with the rest of them...The handheld tuners are a waste of money.

Defineatly go with some sort of a custom tune. the mail order tunes are more aggressive than the programmers, but still relatively tame. if you can get a dynotune do it. mine cost $400 and was worth every penny, plus, free retunes

IMO getting HPT or EFILive is only if your really serious about getting every last ounce of power, but worth it if you have the time.

Hope this helps
