E85 NA...Anyone running this?
#22
Yeah, e85 works pretty good, I've been running it for years with no issues and more power then premium. MPG is lower no doubt but its not too bad. In my 98 reg cab 1500 4wd 350 I get around 13.5-14. With my 03 reg cab 6.0l 2wd 3.42 gears and lean cruise activated I just got 19.2 on a 550 mile trip. Usually on the hwy it gets around 16.5 and if I drive it hard it drops to 13. still cheaper then running premium with cost vs mpg.

Stoich for E85 is 9.87:1 AFR 1.00 Lambda
Ethanol content can vary from load to load sometimes. In the spring ethanol content will start to decrease (depending on your area) from summer.
As winter comes in,you will see more E70 again (depending on your area)
If your truck is not a FFV,an E85 test tube is a good thing to have so you know where to set Stoich.I like mine,it's very useful since my truck is not a FFV.
If your truck is a FFV,then it detects ethanol content.
