Default dyno tune or other

in the spring i want to find someone in my neck of the woods to do a tune for my 99 gmc 5.3, dynotune or similar. basically looking for someone near Albany NY that is reputable at tuning.

i have heard about someware in mass but can't remember?

just want to get it done once and that is it so i don't really need hp tuners or the other one imo.

any idea wheres a good shop?
thanks.

We do not share sponsor status with LS1Tech, whicl they are owned by the same folks, sponsor status is seperated between all the sites.

what mods do you have to need a dyno tune. I would go with nelson performance for a tune. The guy(allen) is a god when it comes to these engines. Look into it.

A god might be a little much, but he is definantly one of the more experienced tuners out there.

well thanks for the help, feel free to pm me the info.

nelson and a few others seem to get many good feedback but i have also seen some negative but that isn't the main reason, not so concerned with the timing part as the shift points and tweaking the trans to what i am looking for. i am afraid that i will put the new pcm in and it wont be what i was looking for then i would have to send back and so on and so forth. figured if i could just go someware within a few hundred miles of me for a hands on tune so to speak ( weather on a dyno or labtop with hp tuners or efi live) and then i would be able to try right there and then and make changes if not what i was expection/hoping for.
i do a fair amount of towing in the summer with not alot of weight but enough where it's in and out of od, with tow/haul button it widns out each gear more than needed, and when in just 3rd which i have found seems to be best means worse fuel milage.
hopeing to be able to get it so it stays in od or tq lock out longer or waits longer before kicking in, make any sence?

definately makes sense. you seem to be like me, im very picky on stuff and the mail order tune is good for just starting out but its almost impossible to be satisfied with just a mail order. you need hp tuners or efilive------------->

Thats the right approach-seat of the pants feel is different for everybody as are the mods, use of vehicle and what is expected of the tune.Mail order stinks because of this-too much lost time and fustration. Then you just give up on them and loose money. My experience talking here.
Dyno is the best test of any tune Then the track to prove it
good luck
