thanks guys, i only have a outlaw cai and catback duels on my 5.3. had a granatelli big tuner in this past summer and worked great imo with adding additional power with the performace tune (93oct) but there trans shift points i didn't care for with towing.
i don't plan on doing anyother tuning except my truck so i would think instead of spending 500 or more for efi live or hp tuners then all the time to set up i would rather just spend one day with driving included and pay someone else a few hundred that is nolagable or fluent with tuning to do it once and be done with it.

please feel free to pm me with any spots/sites within ny,mass,ct,vt and mabey pa to look into so i can get something lined up for the spring.

got your info tahoess01, thanks

You will be happer IMO, if you tune it yourself. After I started tuning, I found I had more fun tunning than driving, well not quit, but I do enjoy it. Plus the truck runs the way I want.....Fast lol

To me it sounds like the biggest part you're wanting done is your shift points. You're gonna be hard pressed to find anyone that wants to spend the time to get them JUST the way you want them. I may be wrong, but in my expereince shift points are tedious and time consuming. If you want the normal ones done and then again pulling a load, that's gonna require a lot of time, probably more than someone is willing to spend.

After reading the thread and thinking about it, I'm thinking that doing it yourself may be the better option for you. Once you get the learning curve down, you'll be surprised at how easy it is.

well how much is a setup going to cost me for just my truck? any good spots for reading up on it? hp or efi?

i am open to all options just figured 300 or so would be reasonable to get 4 or a few more hours with a decient tuner. i would bet adding a bit of timing and fuel isn't going to be the hard part like you say the trans will be a bit tiedous.

just looked at hp tuners, 8 credits it comes with? mabey this weekend i'll start reading up on these, i am sure alot of my questions allready have answers.

HPTuners has their own forum. There's TONS of good information there. LS1Tech is another good tuning spot. THere's prolly as much if not more info on Tech.

Blksilverado is right. I went there for my dyno and Howard is a top notch guy. Won't BS you and does so many vettes and camaros with EFI that tuning a truck is no problem. Shoot me a pm if you want more info.
