Default do it yourself tuning requirements

obviously a good laptop and tuning software

with the new price of efi live i dont think i have a choice but to go that route.

what else am i looking at buying to do some quality self tought tuning?

we have a local dyno around town but i want to have some good experience at what i'm doing before i tune away at it and waste dyno time.
