Cooling fan tuning
#11
The gauge is readying hotter than 210. My only concern is that if I’m pulling out 5k pound camper I don’t want to blast the heat to keep the truck under 210. I want the fans to kick on at 185 for low and 210 for high. That way I keep the engine cool.

It's not gonna hurt anything to have the coolant in the 220-230* range while towing.
it makes me uncomfortable when mine rises above 200 while towing but I have my fans to come on low at 215* and high at 225*.
the factory gauges are off by a good bit too. Get a scanner and check it out sometimes.
on my truck it will sit right at the 200* mark until coolant gets up around 225-230* then the garage will start rising from the 200* mark

If you want the low speed to come on at 185°, they will run constantly once the engine is warmed up. I think that it will run that warm even with a 165° thermostat.
Don't mess around with the A/C pressure settings.
Install a 165° thermostat and experiment with the "on" temp until you find a temperature that the fans will cycle and not stay on constantly.
