Help with Tune 11 Silverado 6.2 with cam and headers
Hello all, I am asking for a bit of help on getting my tune a bit more dialed in for daily driving. I have been using Pat G for tuning, but I am really struggling with the amount of fuel I am using only in the winter time around the city highway is normal in the cold. Summer and warmer temps and the truck is normal/acceptable. I am getting 18-20L per 100kms. I took a job with a car auction company and it has me running around town a lot more and I'd like to get the fuel economy better as the extra cost is killing my budget for getting a more reasonable car to daily drive instead of my truck.
Coles notes, terrible fuel economy only in the winter around town.
Truck mod list:
Freshened heads 6.2 -16K ago thinner felpro headgasket
Pat G cam - 218/228 600 lift 115lsa
VVT limiter
Pac 1219x Springs
Comp Trunnion Bearings Upgrade Comp Hi Tech 7.4" Pushrods
AFE intake
Kooks 1 7/8" headers with highflow cats
Spintech and a magnaflow 3.5" mufflers
NGK Ruthenium Spark plugs (one heat range colder)
I have cleaned the factory airflow sensor, map sensor and throttle body, oxygen sensors were replaced last year, there are no exhaust leaks, I tested the fuel injectors with the pressure drop test, all was good. I run injector cleaner through 2-3 times a year. When the truck is warmed up and shut off, it fires up, almost dies, then catches and runs like normal. I can smell raw fuel when idles in the garage.with the door open. I'd love some eyes on the attached log for some constructive critisicm, I am not a tuner and I am not seeing anything out of the ordinary. I have been waiting patiently for help from Pat, but he's busy and I'd like a second opinion, especially if it's just a sensor to replace that I can do. Any help or advice is appreciated. My truck does have 217K on it with 117K on a GM longblock that I refreshed the heads on when I did the cam install last easter, 20K ago.
I cannot view the log but I speculate this is going to be fuel composition related. I presume you have not added an alcohol composition sensor and still use the stock virtual composition algorithm? Do they oxygenate or reduce ethanol content in the winter gas there in SK?
I’m not aware of any changes in gasoline in the winter for Saskatchewan. The reported ethanol % reads at 0%. So I don’t think that is it. I put a new airflow sensor in for ***** and giggles. I’ll follow up with another log in a few days.
I used the laptop Efilive V8 to log as my AutoCal doesn't have enough storage room, it opens in V8 just fine for me. I since have recieived a new PID file to use in EFIline 7.5 from Pat G. I replaced the MAF sensor on a whim and it seems to be much better on fuel daily driving. Here's the log after

The fuel trims are pulling about 8-9% of fuel in closed loop. Can save a little bit of fuel by cleaning up the airflow model, but it is not bad.
