At least it's not something inside the motor. Glad you found it. I don't think anyone was guessing that.

 

I had 98 454 come in the shop about 10 years ago that damm near drove me to drinking trying to figure it out. IT took me 3 weeks worth of off and on working on it to find the lower intake was warped and not sealing correctly.
