Default boosted guys.... timing question.

im sittin here working on a few tunes.

Just wondering when you guys start ramping the timing down?

i was goin to see how far in boost i can go with the timing, maybe to light it off faster?

im on 6psi right now, when i get home im goin to see if i can dial the tune in on 10psi.

who starts ramping their timing down after the peak tq?

Who keeps their timing the same thru out the rpm range?

Having your timing lead flat throughout the powerband at WOT is not going to net best numbers on the dyno or at the track.ALOT of people do this but it is not the best way!!

I raise my entire spark table 1 deg then run it for a while, if all is good I go up another. if not I lower the table in only in the selected area...

Im now a believer in timing. My curve is flat once I get into boost. You should get away with at least 20* at 6psi, and meth. I just went 6.9@ 102MPH in the 1/8 on 245/17 street tires @9000' DA (5900' track +96* temp) on 14psi, 23* of timing, pump gas/20% E85 mix, and meth.

Thats a gain of 4mph and .3, in the 1/8 over 17*. Thats the first time I have been in the 6's and broke 100MPH at Bandimere and it was on the street tires with a shitty 1.62 60'.

Mine stays flat in boost for the most part as well, been thinking of trying this method though, I'm sure it'll be stronger than what I've got right now. I'm running 19* on 8-10psi with no meth or octane other than 93 pump gas and a splash of 110 Sunoco every now and again.
