anyone put a non 2007 tranny in a 07 truck

Well, I finally found the problem
I thought I had a 4L60E stock, but I didn't. I had a 4L70E. I talked with performabuilt and they told me I could mod the 60E. Change the pump, input shaft and wiring harness. I hate to spend the money on the truck since it's for sale, but I want it to be right. So I'm going to get the tranny done next week. Just thought I would let you fellers know

The 4L70E didn't come in a regular cab according everything GM show's. They only came behind the 6.0L's. What's odd though is that commonly it is thought that only the 70E had the ISS when actually it is pretty much all of the newer trucks with the TCCM seperate have the ISS. We've had many of them apart at work. The 60/65/70E's all have them. Hopefully it isn't too pricey to put everything back together how you need it. Do you still have the old trans?

I still have the old one. I'm not sure about using the pump out of it. I can def. use the wiring and input shaft. Do you think the pump would be contaminated from loosing 1-2-3-4, lol.

My thought is that the parts are pretty much interchangable. I'd take your stock trans in and have them put your built trans parts into your stock trans. You'd basicly end up with a built trans again, except having the original case and wiring that you need.
