Default anyone put a non 2007 tranny in a 07 truck

If so did you get any error codes? If so do you remember which ones you got? How did you fix them or did you just delete the codes out in the tuning?

I was told the 07 has a sensor on the input shaft. This is the first year they did it and that was one of my error codes. Another one I'm getting is because the neutral safety switch is sometimes not sending a signal to let the computer to let it know which gear I'm in, the gear indicator on the dash isn't working all the time. This also doesn't allow the cruise control to work

Just curius to see what you guys have come across. I didn't want to just delete vital codes.

Because of the pcm used in your truck I don't think there is any good way of getting rid of that code properly. You should have a trans put in there with an input speed sensor. How did you end up with the incorrect trans?

I guessing its cuz he put the Performa level 2 4L60E thats in his sig in it. But agreed, I would have gotten a 4L70e Built, so it had the sensor. Whats the code and I'll look in EFILive and see if it can be disables or not.

I seen the trans in his sig. It just seems like it would have been easier to use the 60E with the ISS. It isn't just the 70E that got the ISS. The 60/65/and 70E use it. The originated in 06' on some models and pretty much everything in 07' and later. If you eliminate that code the question is what other issue's may arise from it? From what I see if you have no ISS reporting the trans will always run a max line pressure. Unless you're running a vacuum pressure control solenoid that may also cause an issue.

OK. My scanner isn't the best. It shows p0700 (twice) Trans control system malfunction and p0717 input turbine speed sensor no signal (twice)

I got po717 figured out. I think the 2 codes are directly related. My gear indicator bars have been work fine so I think those codes went away. Can I just tune out the codes?

They both can be turned off, But I would only try disabling the P0717. I don't know what other problems it might cause though.

Is is only speculation, but if you disabled those DTC's, and set the tranz parameters to not do the slip test, then you might be able to get away with not having that speed sensor in the tranny.
