Glad you posted this because i was going to buy one to try. I guess i am stuck with the old mechanical boost gauge. It sure would have been nice to be able to data log some boost numbers.

I just run the cheapest OBDII bluetooth I can find. Just do a search on ebay for "elm 327". Have had the cheapest one I could find for a while now.

Ditto. It was like $20 shipped, works perfectly with my Droid 3.

A co-worker had a similar issue like this and it turns out the bluetooth adapter was bad.

Seller sent him a new adapter and its been fine ever since.

Make sure the one you bought will work on all vehicle networks including CAN.

Reviving this kind-of-old thread for props on the bluetooth adapter recommendation. I already had one of those transparent blue mini-ELM327 adapters, which worked fine on my Mopar stuff, but wouldn't read the truck I bought it for - a '97 Suburban that had an LS1 swap. I figured it was the hacked harness, but no, the mini-ELM327 wouldn't work on my freshly-purchased '06 Silverado SS, either. Powers up, but won't communicate with the PCM.

After reading this thread I searched that BAFX adapter that KillrSnake mentioned, and just bought one. Anybody searching for this unit please beware there are multiple sources for it, and one vendor on ebay that appears to be an authorized reseller for them. Some of the other ones out there look like sketchy copies.

Edit - got mine in and it connects and communicates just fine on the '06 SS.

Richard
