Aftermarket spark plug wires, do I still need to run metal spark plug tube shields?

msd has those multi angle boots, so you can bend them any direction you want

Mine are taylor brand, but alot of them on summit have the 90 degree bend. Heres the box mine came in

I leave mine on there, even w/ aftermarket wires. You can barely see them anyway. Cooler = better
