Got my fuel system in. I've been running my turbo at 6lbs and shutting it off at 4500rpms because my injectors get up to 90% duty cycle. Going to try and get my fuel system out in tomorrow and work on the tune some. Parts waiting to be installed: walbro 400, Siemens deka 80s, 3 bar brick map, ev6 pigtails, and whatever os I deceide to tune with.

Question 1: Here's a pic of my map. Can it be used on a truck manifold. It looks like the pigtail is in the worst place possible. I'd like to use it if possible. Tired of waiting on parts.

Question 2: Should I go with a 2 bar or 3 bar SD tune? Can a 3 bar map even be used with a 2 bar tune? Does the 2 bar offer any advantages? I see it offers RTT, and I also wonder about resolution. I would also like to run my maf during cruise and idle if that is possible.

Question 3: I've heard deka 80s have trouble rich idling. I think I have the correct data except for the short pulse adder. I have also adjusted transet fuel to help lower the Ipw at idle. Any other advice on this? Especially the short pulse adder. PM'S welcome.

Yes you can use that MAP but it will not hook directly up to the manifold, you will have to run a vacuum line from the manifold to the MAP. If you run a 2bar MAP then you MUST run a 2bar Tune, this applies for anything whether its 1bar, 2bar, 3bar. Yes those injectors will require the correct data to get them to play well at idle and decel, where did you get your data from?

Thank you very much. Having another thing teed off of my manifold makes me want to get a vacuum log. I didn't even think about running a line to it.

3 bar map means 3 bar os, then.

You can drill and tap the port that you usually goes in to with a 1/4 npt and just use a brass barb fitting with a hose on it...I did that at one point, worked fine. My map sensor is still over the driver side corner.

3bar sensor=3bar os

Thanks for answering all the questions. Anyone have problems with the lower resolution of a 3 bar SD tune?

Negative...fun fact, if your injectors and fuel system and tuned correctly and accurately, the VE table doesnt change much with pressure so resolution isnt that important...except if you have a huge cam at idle.

Also, go ahead and get rid of the maf, cant use it with a 2 or 3bar os anyway.

I probably will when I get an Iat sensor. I actually grew fond of the maf with na tuning. All kinds of SD haters for na tuning on hptuners. Oh well, this is a whole new ball game. Oh atomic, I got a question about my walbro 400 install in another thread if you'd care to take a look. I mean you have answered all my aggrivating boost questions anyways

I dont really care for either, but for boost SD makes the most sense. Nothing wrong with a MAF as long as it can support whatever application its on.

0-5v maf ftw! I personally am not fond of the factory blended model. Although I haven't been around a bunch of different fuel injection systems, I am a Maf nut hugger. How are other system calculating airflow? Maf and rpm vs vac. are the only ones I know of.
