i've always thought all trucks switched to DBW in 03' but read a post on another forum that says the 6.0 trucks made the switch in 01'? i downloaded a file from the hptuners repository from a 02' 6.0-4l80e truck, any way to tell if its DBW from looking at the tune?

 

It depends on the truck. In '01 & '02 the trucks with traction control and the C3, Escalade, Yukon Denali & Sierra Denali with the 6.0L all came DBW. The 8.1L trucks also had DBW. Then finally in '03 DBW was introduced into the rest of the trucks. From your post, I would say that the file was not from an DBW equipped truck as an '02 6.0L -4L80E would have been at least a 3/4 ton.
