I got a 99 silverado with a 5.3, Lunati 221/221 558/558 114lsa, fuel injectors from an 05 5.3, cia, pacesetter lt, ory, and a custom tune from wait4me, yesterday i put it on a data logger and it showed it was runnin a little to rich 24 deg adv timing at wot and a lot or knock retard... What the flip!?!? It shouldn't be knock retarding should it? This is on 91 octane by the way... your thoughts please...

 

Did he upgrade your operating system to 2001 or 2002?

 

might want to see if he desensitized your knock sensors, although they still shouldnt be going off.....like blackGMC said see if he has upgraded to 01-02. Could be an exhaust leak to maybe??? could be setting off the knock sensors

 

had a friend that went through this a week ago. He had his 99 tuned by W4M and it was pulling 8 degrees averywhere. He upgraded to a 02 OS and it fixed a lot of his KR problems, then leaned it out some, now hes adding spark. His is cammed on a TR 220-220 114 i think. The tune was not that impressive to say the least.....

no just flash an 01+ Operating system over your current one. The pcm is the same, programming is different. I THINK it is free to do it with either hp tuners and efilive. I can only speak for efilive and i know its free.

 

i'm gettin efilive tuning tool on monday... so how do i do that? Where can i find the 01+ Operating system?

Ok, I got the 01 OS and now i wanna put it on the truck... can i not take the calibrations from the old tune and apply them to the new tune?
