Default 08 tuning idiot here... need tuner recommendations.

Hello,
I have a new 08 nbs Silverado CC 5.3 Alum block, flex fuel, afm 4x4 auto Z71.

Now I always thought I was a fairly smart fellow, but I am in uncharted territory with this one.

My new truck is really disappointing. It drives and rides nice, but the power is very unrefined. It seems to lack low end power, it never finds the right gear when you accelerate after a corner (unless you punch it, and then it shifts right away), and it seems to feel like it is being tugged at from behind while running down the highway. The dealer tells me this is normal characteristics of the new trucks.

My old 96 z71 with 180,000 miles on it actually in my opionion runs out better than my new truck does. Its the reason I bought a new one, I am so happy with the old 96. Its just getting wore out.

So my question is, what can I do tuner wise, that will correct the above problems, yet keep me under the radar with the dealership and not void any warranties? I don't care about power gains or mileage gains, I just want it to run right... Give me the power when I push the pedal (and be in the right gear)!!!

I rode in my buddies 08 f-150 this weekend, and damn, I am wishing my ran like his. His truck runs really nice, The way mine should run in my opinion...

Thanks...Kevin

Only one of the tuning suites like HPTuners or EFILive will give you the versatility of transmission parameter tuning as well as all of the necessary engine parameters to bring your truck to life. The down-side is that it takes a lot of reading and practice to use proficiently. You can always have a custom tune done by one of our sponsors and then use the tuning software to tweak out the trans settings, that's what I have done.

How about a tuner company like Wheatley, Nelson, or Blackbear? Would they be able to make it perform correctly without any warranty issues?

All great tuners, you will want to discuss this with them.
