you sure it bolts to the radiator and not the core support? The 05-5.3 and 06 4.6 I looked at and was getting lengths off all bolted to the support and not the radiator, or maybe I'm not looking deep enough at em, I'll be driving my truck in tomorrow and will have it side by side the rest of em.

No it doesnt bolt to the radiator. The fans wont seat properly on the smaller radiator. I would guess you could trim on them to make them fit, but whats the point.

I can get a LS1 fan set up for 99 bucks and a truck set up they wanted 190.
both prices are right about where they should be. From what I have gathered the 05+ fans will pull more cfms and run better, but either way is better than clutch

The 05 5.3 under the hood looks just like mine its a 2005 2wd ext cab long bed.

I have a buddy that works for LKQ and he was hooking me up with this stuff, no running around, call and say this is what I'm after, boom done, he also is the same one im gonna get my motor from as soon as the funds come up, he has remand 6.0's -02 and up for 1900 or pull out from 1100.

I wanna do this swap because the truck is no longer my DD, hand me down civic came my way for a grand and the 35mpg is saving me over the 14ish in the truck.

I'll have both trucks side by side tomorrow and will go from there gents, but I'll keep you all posted, if I can squeeze a 13 something pass out this rig without weight reduction ill be more excited then a homeless guy that found a roll of toilet paper with paper still on it!!!

I'm thinking the truck fans cause they look more heavy duty and the shrouds looked better suited to my application.

If you are gettting the 05 fans from salvage parts, grab the radiator and the factory fan harness as well. Nothing like a factory installation.

The fan harness is part of the headlight harness, but you can separate them out.

I'm gonna get the LS1 fans and the harness, funds are a little tied up in a few other belt fed projects and house repairs, 99 bucks for a set of fans off a 99 trans am that got rammed in the side, that way I don't have to swap out radiators.

I bought trick performances electric fan kit. They drop right in and bolt up in about 2 mins. With the ls1 fans you have to find your own way to attach them.
