04 ECM Question

If I change the VIN on an 04 ECM will it work on my 02??

If you try to use a 04 Vin on a 02 OS it will not work, Or are you trying to do somthing else?

An 04 ECM will work on a 02 truck just fine. The OS's just are not interchangable.

04 to present use a 1mb PCM.
03 -> 99 PCM's were only 512kb.

Hmmm... I have no idea on that one. I would look into this alittle more. There are quit a few differences on these computers. Im not even sure if the pinouts are the same, But let us know cause I have no clue

Dont worry about the VIN that dont matter and the 04 will not take the 02 VIN either.

Not quite right. 99-02 are the 512 kb pcms, and 03 to present are 1mb. And they are NOT interchangeable.

Well i got the PCM and tried it.....The red connector for an '02 will not even fit into the '04 PCM.....

So it turns out that my plan has backfired...The PCM is Nelson tuned and I figured it would fit in my truck....but no!! Does Nelson offer the same thing Westers does, with getting you a new computer if you get a differant truck?
