Default What's the perfect compliment to something big, heavy, and quick in a straight line?

Something small, light, and a monster in the corners.

Ever since riding in one of my good friends' '92 Miata a few years ago, I've wanted one, and I need a small vehicle to bring into the city for school. So, the choice was obvious.

Drove down to Virginia this past Saturday, and picked this bitch up for $2400 with the hardtop (happened to see Sharpshooter's truck in Delaware, clean as hell). I am in love with this car, it's impossible to not smile while ripping mountain back roads with the top down.

I want one too. Only with a hardtop though. Nice catch!

I'd buy one of them, but only to drop an LSX in. I hear theres a kit out for it...even NA, they just completely destroy cause they weigh close to nothing. I hope your future plans for this car involve something with 8 cylinders...

Ah, 3 people who have never driven a Miata...

This thing is serving as a DD for the time being, so no major money will be invested in aftermarket parts for a while. When it does get some money put into it, it'll go towards the suspension. I've got something for drag racing, time for something for autocross/track days.

If I ever desire more power, it's turbo time, I just have no desire for gobs of V8 torque in a RWD car that weighs just over 2000 lbs. Maybe I'm spoiled from the 4wd in the truck, but torque without traction just plain isn't any fun. This car is at home on tight back roads, with the revs never dropping below 5 grand. With a V8, it just wouldn't have the same... soul.

The Miata is cute, but I have to admit the Saturn Sky Redline is what I'm leaning for ....

No it would, it would just be possessed and become a ******* demon to anyone who wants to race it, drag strip and hairpin turns alike. Not to tell you what to do with it, its your car lol, do what you like with it by all means. But spinning with the same amount of torque as your truck has wouldn't be near as much of an issue on the car as you think it would be. Of course it would break loose easily if you push too far down on the accelerator, but since its lighter it has less inertia, and less resistance to acceleration = less spinning I'd V8 swap one of those in a heartbeat if I had the time and money.
