what the heck is up with gas prices,

Building new refineries would be all well and good, but do us no good for a very long time. Fact is no new refineries have been built in the US for about 30 years. Any major refineries anyways. And on average they take about 10-15 years to complete the project from design phase to actual product being turned out. Big problem is that while everyone bitches about gas and oil prices rising, no one wants to have a refinery built near them so once one is planned then the communities get involved and it all goes through the legal process.

Yeah, I agree with you on that; I just wish we could skip some of the legalities and get the ball rolling, 'cuz like u said, no new refineries in the past 30 years. I know it'll take awhile too, but I'd like to have some hope that it was coming.
