lol thanks for the responses guys!
Anyhow, Im a Tile Setter. Apprenticing right now and should be an my own is a couple months. I have already purchased all of my tools, and the only thing left is my license, bond, and insurance. Which will not add up to more than $1200, so I left myself a $300 cushion. Then I have to buy a trailer, which will not cost me more than $2k.
That leaves me more than $2k to spend on the truck.
Groceries arent an issue...lol...I live at home still(hey Im only 18!)
If there are any problems, I can get money loaned to me no problem.. The flooring store I will be subcontracting for is owned and ran by my family. My grandparents owned and started it, now my Mom an Aunt run it and partially own it.
Or, if I had to get a loan from the bank, I could. I have already built my credit. I took out a loan for a rear-end in my first truck(my mom co-signed), I got a loan for my last truck($11,000), and now have a loan on this one which was about $18k, with no cosigners on my truck loans.
So basicly Ive already calculated the costs, and my current debts. Which are the truck payment and ins. And I know I can spend $2k. I just dont know what to do about that engine..

Didn't mean to lecture you.
Sounds like you've got a good setup.
If I were you (and I'm not, but if I were) I would sell the 6.0 since IIRC it is an older one which would be a PITA to install, and use that money plus your $2K, plus maybe a credit card (or wait and save) and get a radix. Advantages:
1: Installation only takes a day if you really push it (I'm a lazy s.o.b. so it took me a week) so your truck will be out of revenue-making commission for only a day.
2: This will give you the power to tow your trailer up and down those hills in your neck of the woods, but you'll still get 5.3L gas mileage at other times.
3: If anything goes wrong, you can yell at BlownChevy

sell the LQ4 but dont give it away!!! Put it on Ebay and you'll get at least $1000. As far as spending money........... do it wisely. Getting yourself in debt modding a truck is dumb especially when you are starting a business. Ive taken my time on my truck and I never have less than 20K in my checking. Im 26 and Im putting 200K down on a 350K home. I'll have it paid off in less than 10 years. Debt sucks. My goal is to be able to do whatever I want by 35. Take your time and get yourself financially stable. Im freaking out b/c Im having to change jobs. Actually worrying about how you are going to pay bills is not a siuation you want to be in. Your 18 man, youve got a couple years to enjoy things. What I do is allow myself 5% of my monthly income on mods. Not only does it make me work harder, but its also made me very good at what I do and has given me a sense of job security that very few actually have nowadays.
Save up some money and wait for the housing market to come down a bit and buy a house!!!
This is just my opinion..... you asked!

Yep! I like hearing all of your opinions. My buddy who was trained by the same guy who is training me, has been on his own almost 2 years and he just bought his first house.
I now have an extra 2k for mods. An offer came up I cant refuse! (dont worry, its nothing sketchy. lol Plus , whatever i get if I sell this engine.
I Like the Radix idea!
