There's a guy in Cali I think that takes wrecked GTO's and somehow combines their front ends with the Ute's back ends. I'm not sure the detail or how he gets his parts but I've seen a few of these posted on ls1gto and that's generally the story behind the ones in the US.

Man I wish GM would just bring the Maloo over here. The GTO versions are alright, but sometimes you just gotta have the real deal lol

You can't export the whole car but you can bring in a partial shell as scrap metal and graft one together.

I am surprised we can't have them here anyone know why we can't import them? Safety issues I'm guessing? I know Canada couldn't get the GTO bc of some bumper bs.

Most likely they don't meet USA crash standards.

I'm pretty sure its the Pontiac G8 here. Looks identical to your gto and can get a 6.0 version
I think it was the crash test. I had heard something about it not meeting standards due to front bumper crap. Our air bags are supposed to deploy in a collision equilavent to 22km/h and 30* degrees of vehicle centerline
