Does anybody else have a problem trying to go to sleep?
Over the past few years ive gotten use to goin with only a couple-few hours of sleep a night. Mostly from when i was traveling and workin crazy long hours.
Now that i dont do much except hunt/shoot/reload and turn a wrench every now and again, ive tried goin to bed at a decent hour but end up not being able to fall asleep. It gets quite aggravating.
Did a motor/transmission swap in a truck this weekend, started Saturday morning bout 9am and finished Sunday morning and got to bed bout 7am. Slept till 10:30 and got to cleaning the shop up and stuff around the house.
Now ive been tryin to go to sleep for 4 hours and its not working haha.
Use to install power transformers all over the US and have worked 24+hrs straight more times than i can remember and the ocassional 36hr "days".
Get a few hours of sleep and something to eat and get back at it. Never really get tired or sleepy.
Anybody else out there have that problem?

I have exactly the opposite problem, actually. I have the hardest time staying awake. I worked really long hours when I was in the military, and about halfway through my time in service I found myself needing to sleep more and more... Not too long ago, I was diagnosed with narcolepsy. Its so bad now, I have to take medication for it every day. Of course now I use my freedom to stay awake to get work done and troll around on the forums while I'm taking a break
Otherwise I am a zombie, its pretty horrible...

Geez, guess i best not be complaining then.
Most my friends are headed to bed and im headed out the door to go do something.
Last weekend i was in my reloading room and ended up watching 3 movies while loadi g and organizing some stuff. Next thing i know its 4am.... Doh.
Ended up waking up at 8am and went hog hunting.
Now if the conditions are right and have my harness on, i sleep so dang good in my climbing stand while hunting.

I also have trouble staying asleep, winding down so i can go to sleep.
I take attavan, 2 tablets before bed, I fall asleep bout 30 min later, sleep all night, and ususally wake up before my alarm goes off. No groggy feeling.
It helps your mind relax also so your not thinking about the daily stuff you need to do thus keeping you awake .

I have the same problem. I honestly think I've fallen into a pattern of no sleep because of studying. Staying up all night, falling asleep for 3-4, maybe 5 hours at most, then going all day has got me to where I can't fall asleep at night anymore. In fact, I tried my best to fall asleep tonight a 9:15-ish and got up an hour later--still up at 4:45 a.m.

OP, when I get like that, I take tylenol PM for two nights, then half dose for two nights to get in a rhythm.
Corey, that sounds like you have heartburn thats waking you up and you can't feel it. happened to me and several people i know. chew up some tums before you go to bed, see how that works.

I go to the gym late at night, stay for about 2-3hours and basically try to exhaust myself. I sleep like a baby after that, otherwise I sometimes have trouble going to sleep.
