I have been looking for a GPS map system for when I'm traveling. What are you guys using? How are the TOMTOM units? Which one do you have? Any help would be great. I have seen the 125 for $99 and others for up to $300. I'm way confused at this point. Thanks Vince

Each of them have their own features that are neat
My parents got a cheap Garmin and I like the fact that you can zoom out on it and still scroll, however it doesn't come with software to load in maps to your memory card before your trip.
I have a discount with Magellan and got a Maestro 4220. I like it's ease of use, but don't like that I can't scroll when I zoom out. If you area AAA member it also has a feature that helps you contact AAA for a tow. Not real sure on the details of that feature since i'm not an AAA member.

i've got a garmin nuvi 285 and i like it a lot. i've only been able to use it for a few days now but it's been awesome at gettin me around Louisville as i've never spent any time here before. one thing i don't care for is in some congested areas where roads will split names i.e. I-65w/I-71n it kindof throws you off and i've made a couple wrong exitsbut it recognizes your mistake instantly and recalculates your trip and puts you back on track. all in all i'm pleased with it. also it has many functions as far as finding restaraunts, hotels, points of interest, hospitals and what not.

From what I've heard and read, Garmin is the best and least problematic...alot of our customers that I've met have complained about having problems with their Magellan units. Haven't heard much about Tom Tom though, good or bad
