The way I see it if i stay put, I have at least 10 yrs at my store before I move up unless some gets fired or quits. The owner has mentioned moving me but it got swept under the rug when our store started making more money.

I have thoroughly read all the advice you guys have given me so far and its really helped me put it into perspective. I'm just gonna stay put for the job security reason. My hours suck but I've delt with it this long, I will just continue to deal with it. Thanks for all who shared their input.
Glad we could offer our 2cents. If you can't get pass your manager start talking to people above him. Don't throw him under the bus but ease your way and they might move you. They want ALL the stores to be making money not just one. They might be looking to expand and open another store. Also see if there are any management courses or classes available or offered by the company. A chain that size will almost always invest in employees they got instead of hiring outside.

Well they just opened the fifth store at the end of last year, I did just get back from a mgmt course they wanted me to go to. I'm guessing there is something planned for me in their minds.

So ask them what their plans are? They'll at least know that you're being career minded.
