Default Ls327

Anyone read the article on pg 114 of the new Truckin' Magazine? (volume 36 #2 in case someone digs this up later).

They spent $3,523.35 to put an LS327 into an avalanche just to go from 202hp/272tq to 287hp/329tq. which is nice tq but holy ****.
They could have easily put a cam, exhaust and tune on the stock 5.3 and got 320/315 ~ out of it for WAYYYYY cheaper.

Why would someone make that swap other than lack of knowledge or just to say they have a 327. (more tq maybe?)

the LS327/327 Crate motor is basically a cam and piston upgrade from the 5.3. i don't know where they got their numbers from. according to GMPP, the actual HP/TQ is 327 horsepower and 347 lb.-ft. of torque.
my guess is they changed it because they wanted a fresh motor.

the numbers are RWhp 327/347 is flywheel.

They swapped it cuz they are trying to show off the motor that's a waste of money.
