That guy's takin advantage or you BIG TIME by only paying you like that! I'd go with the oilfield deal, unless he sweetens the pot a LOT.

Look at it this way, you're working at a place that's your "hobby" and your there full time. Yeah that's nice, but not everyone can live off of their hobby.
How often do you see people coming in buying toys, and all kinds of new toys. Yeah you're having fun with working on everyone else's rides, but now what if those rides and or toys were yours. And instead of you working in a shop, picture you working in your own garage.
The oil business is never going to go down enough for you to loose your job. If for whatever reason the experience that you learn can be taken else where. . . .
Sounds like you're working for too little where you're at . . . I'd take the new job.
