It's official I start working for the devil in a week

The Ford diesel world USED to be a money making business. Ford is getting out o hand with their warranty procedures and testing. Then, once root cause is established for a failure, they don't want to pay **** to fix it. Customer pay diesel work is where it's at IMO. That's where the bucks are. I do suspension, driveability, chassis, all major engine and primarily transmissions. I've got about 4 motor jobs and about the same number of transmissions lined up waiting to be worked on.... I'm about 10 days backlogged LOL... Life isn't bad right now. I just need an hourly raise... I'm not making any more than I did on the lube rack...

when youre turning a wrench its all the same. I used to be a Jag tech, nothing special. I was a Dodge tech before that, more of a helper for the heavy line guy, but I did a lot.
For a few months I worked on the lincoln Mercury side of the Dodge dealer. I got to see a few Fords come through there. When I started with Jag, I couldnt believe how many parts had FORD stamped on them. Specifically the 3.0 v6 in the X type. I dont know whats different about it. variable runners in the manifold like the old Taurus sho.
anywhoo, conrgrats on getting a decent job, its tough out there.
