As of right now, I just set the buffalo's to the region Canada rather then US and set it for the Max of 36DMI. After hours of running, it was cool to the touch. I'm going to keep an eye on it and make sure nothing bad happens. Seems fine right now. I'm going back out there in a few days to check on it.

I set my blackberry to network diagnostic and walked around the office, holding -43 to -65 every where in the 3 suite office. When I check other wifi networks, the best I got was -80 standing directly under one of the other routers. No complaints when there is 30 Wifi networks in that building.

The biggest kicker is it is pushing 450 Mb speed right now, every other office is 54 or 300. I was surprised by how fast it loaded youtube movies on my cell phone. No delay, just bamm.

I hear ya and can relate to your situation, as a self employed person it was very hard for me to budget my money...business would be booming and Id go on spending rampages, then work would slow down and id be screwed. My family and I had to learn to save and keep $ in the bank for the times when things slow down. Hang in there!

I draw a paycheck from the business just like any other employee. This leave money in the business. Things have been so crappy though, there hasn't been any to take a paycheck or leave in the account.

Blackberry huh? I'm sorry.

Now that's something interesting. Wonder where you're getting the extra speed boost, I was always under the impression that the hardware was the limiting factor... not the software. Now you have me wondering.

Hope things are looking on the up and up for you. I know around here, the first few weeks after Christmas are crazy busy with all the elderly people getting laptops and routers as gifts, and parents getting routers and Xbox/PS3's for their kids.

Yeah, I switched to Buffalo's when I started having constant problems with the new Linksys equipment. I couldn't be happier with the Buffalo's, pretty awesome equipment for the money.

Hey, don't knock it. It was a free upgrade to the Torch, and it had all my built in requirements. This thing has taken a beating, and it works great. I like the fact I can pull up the network diagnostics and test Wi-fi equipment. Beat's constantly dragging a laptop around like I used to do.

The Buffalo has the built in 450 ability, it just wasn't turned on and using it. To be more compatible with B equipment, most routers have all the highspeed stuff turned off. I locked out B, set it to G/N mixed, and then set all the speed settings to the max the router can handle. Pretty impressive. G won't see the advantage unless it has some sort of speedboost built in, but I tell you, N absolutely flies.

This is a small one horse town, so things don't work like that. Dad started this business in 1984. The last 10-15 years have been hard, but during that time we had someone working for us that wasn't good for the business. We are now trying to build things back up to were they should be.

Sold the truck for a very small profit within 2 hours of listing it. I am going to go cry now.

when i was laid off i went and purchased a 500$ honda pressure washer. you can easily make 100 per day cleaning driveways and it works year round. just gotta get out and start banging on doors. if it was summer time i would say to get a lawn mower. when i was in college i could make 1200 a week pushing a mower
