Thanks guys, helps a little just getting it off my chest. It has been a stress filled year to say the very least.

Gradually working my way back out of this steaming pile I have been knocked into. Just seems like every so often you get knocked back down just for good measure. When the economy took a dump, a friend had to let me go. I was his only employee with another job. I was doing internet sales for him at night, drawing only a commission. As the economy kept going down, we had a guy working for us. I started working 2 days a week so there would be enough money for the other guy to take some home. That hurt, from $2,000-2,500 a week, to $300 a week in the course of 2 months. I did have means of survivability that the guy working for us didn't have. My W2 for that entire year was honestly a whopping $12K, for a married guy with 2 kids. Our employee found another job, and I was able to go back working full time.

Now you know why I no longer have my Yukon XL and my Mustang. Had to let them go to take care of my family.

Thanks for the encouragement guys.

I got a call tonight off some craigslist ad's for s-10 parts. He wanted to know if I had more stuff then I had listed. I told him that I had a complete truck. He wants parts of the truck that I wouldn't be using anyway. I am going to go ahead and sell the stuff. The truck is worth more parted out then as a whole anyway, so it won't hurt either way.

Going to talk with him again tomorrow and get a full list of what he needs.

It isn't all the money I need, but every little bit helps.

On a side note, I learned some awesome new stuff with Wi-Fi routers tonight. I have a few days work ahead of me, but it should pay off well. Has to do with firm-ware changes, and linking multiple routers together. I have a few customer's wanting to connect networks in multiple buildings where it isn't feasible to run a wire. I have do it in the past, but nothing nearly this stable.

Meshnet firmwares I'm assuming.

DD-WRT firmware- I have been installing some Buffalo router's that are pre-loaded with it. I was in the customer's office installing one tonight by myself. I spent about 3 hours learning what all the different functions do and how to manipulate them.

I have installed many of these before but never actually taken the time to go through the advanced settings and tweak things. In a building with 40 office's, it is pumping out the strongest signal, and it has the fastest speed. I was surprised how simple it was once I knew what the terms meant.

I have 10 or so WRT-54G's at that shop, so I am going to start firm-ware updates.

Just be careful and read up on pumping up the Xmit power on those linksys routers. I've got one with it and only turned it up to about 75mw, I've read where it's possible to burn them up cranking them all the way up to 200, at least I think 200 was the max it'd let you go with them. DD-WRT is looking to be a promising firmware for meshing.
