How do people (parents) deal with kids?
#1
Being 21, I'm starting to look at little kids and think "damn- every day?"
I just got back from visiting family and there were 2 little 1 year old kids there.
Talk about maintinance. Constantly feed them, and change them, and WATCH THEM, and carry them and you get no sleep and the list just goes on and on.
Then they get older and boys turn into agressive little "wrestlemainia" kids. the cyberbots and draganziods and whatever else. I have to say that I think, even being 21, Id rather have girls than boys.
As they grow and become 7-12 years old they just nag you and it seems like its constantly "daddy! daddy! daddy!" or "mommy! mommy! mommy!" Even the best kids. They are kids.
18 years is a long ******* time :faint:

strange, the two points of view.
I guess you bring up a very valid point; all of the parents are more than happy that they have had their kids. I guess at 21 you place a higher value personal freedoms.
I love to hang out with my cousin's two girls (8 and 9), and they are 2 of the best behaved kids i've ever seen that still have personalities (VERY VERY strong ones). But my role as their 2nd cousin is way different than parent. Id go crazy as their parents but Id love to have them live next door or even, in the same house so long as i'm not dad.
I can even deal with their ups and downs- even go to their sports games and light corrective actions (Hey, that was rude. appologize to your sister type stuff). The constant parenting thing would make me crazy. Did you do your homework, did you brush your teeth, bed time, blah blah blah.... crazy.
I think I could handle girls after 5 or 6 if I really had to. Boys (and the ones here today are extremely well behaved and respectful) would drive me crazy. "stop suplexing your brother!"

At the age of 21? No friggn' way! Have fun, Party, get laid, and get a career, not just a job. Get it all out of the way and then kids are the next logical step.

TreyZ28, I know exactly where you are coming from.. I am about to turn 21 next month and I just dont see myself having kids.. I just got back from my Aunts house and my 2 cousins have 3 kids, a 5 year old, a 2 year old, and like a 8 month old (all boys) and the 2 oldest ones are nothing but trouble. They are constantly hitting on people and wanting to fight and you their mothers are always chasing them and making sure they arent tearing stuff up (which the usually are).. They have to be constantly monitored.. I am sure I will come around someday.. I think I would rather have boys, I can handle the wrestling and stuff.. but I dont think I will be able to handle boyfriends and all the things that come with them lol.. i would be like Bill Engvall telling some boy, if he breaks my girls heart, I aint afraid to go back to jail..

I'm 37 and have a 12 year old. I think it was the perfect time that I had him, at 25. He is my entire world. You can't begin to explain it to "non-parents", but when you have kids, you will remember this post, and wonder wtf you were thinking....trust me, you will remember me saying this. You will never love anything the way you love your kids.

Wow, I also have a 17 month old boy. November 2003 was a busy month, huh. Yes, he is a lot of work and seems to have an unlimited supply of energy, and no we still can't sleep through the night (teething). He runs me and my wife ragged day in and day out, but the feeling that I get when I walk in the door each night after work and see him light up with delight can't be compared to anything else.

Girls are great until they turn 13. Then prepare for utter hell.
Boys are bad until 13, then they're either dumb as hell or self-maintaining, either way at least they can't get pregnant.
Honestly i'd prefer having boys to girls, then they can help me work on stuff and i can tell them not to bitch about it.
