You need to choose the case first! Choose what you want it to look like then from there its no big deal. Hardest part is choosing sound and tv tuner!

Tower is fine, not worried about what it looks like.

Now I want to build a new PC to hook up to the TV. I need suggestions on what parts to go with though, been too long since I've built a PC. It'd be nice to play some games on the big screen.

Case/mobo/graphics/etc. need suggestions. Keep it under $1500? No monitor needed.

XLR8NSS, in CHEVRACER's absence I will attempt to Geek it up!

Here are my suggestions, I have been building PCs since 1998, so I have a bit of experience.

Motherboard - Asus P5Q-EM or Gigabyte GA-EG45M-DS2H

Processor - Intel Core 2 Duo E8500

Memory - Patriot Viper 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit

Video Card - HIS Hightech H487F512P Radeon HD 4870 512MB

Hard Drive - Seagate ST3640323AS 640GB 7200 RPM SATA, buy 2 of these if you want to set up a Raid 0 array for super fast program load times.

DVD/RW Blueray - LG Black Blu-ray/HD DVD-ROM & 16X DVD±R DVD Burner SATA Model GGC-H20L

Case is really your choice, but if you are going to be using this for a HTPC and putting it in a media center then I like this - SILVERSTONE SUGO SG02B-F or SILVERSTONE Sugo SG01B-F

Power supply - SeaSonic S12 Energy Plus SS-550HT or COOLER MASTER Real Power Pro 550 RS-550-ACAA-A1

Well, that should be it, and of course your choice of Operating system. Good luck on the build. I went to a popular computer e-store and figured the total price at just under $1100.00 There are some mail in rebates in effect on some items that would bring that down to right around $1000.00 even.
