I was forced to go to the Zone tonight to pick up some touchup paint. Somehow the clerk started to talk to me about my truck, telling me about how i needed to get a body kit for it and such. I told him that im not much into making my truck look like a show truck and that i was more interested in getting the pig down the track faster. He said, "You know what you need to do? You need to watch Pinks! I get all of my information from that show. Im really intrigued at how these japanese are making these cars nowadays." I was like : Then he started telling me how i needed to get a superchips tuner and a k&n filter.

I then payed the man, looked at my phone, said "****! Look at the time!!" and then left having been made dumber than what i was when i walked in.

I love self-proclaimed ricer know it alls that watch "Fast And the Furious" and become experts on the subject of performance.

Next time, ask them for 1983 corvette parts. Somoething like 50 were made, but never sold. Never was a 83 corvette, should be fun for you.

I had to go to autozone one day to get a code read after my nelson tune. He forgot to turn the egr off .... no big deal but the guy came out and said my egr was messed up. Then he started talking about his s10 that was so fast and about the drop and body kit and then i said something about my tune. I ended up telling him i had the egr turned off and the guy freaked. !!!MAN THATS VERY IMPORTANT TO THOSE ENGINES!!!! Then he really paniced when i told him i had no cats and no rear o2s. The guy was a freakin out about how cats and 02s helped the truck run better... blah blah blah!!! What a dick face.... he then proceeded to tell me to get a hypertech and ditch my nelson.... I just said well i gotto go ... and shut the door.

I just learned to smile and listen. The more you talk the longer the torturing will last. Ocasionally i'll throw something out there to keep them going. Some are just entertaining to hear their "expert advice"

I have seen the 1 surviving 1983 Corvette. It is at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY next to the plant. Just like the 1984 btw. They didn't get it out into production in time to call it an 83.

 

Hey Mark, what year model do you have? I know you have a vette with a big inch small block but i forgot what year you told me.
