Going to Court!
ok in May i got a ticket for reving my truck up. the ticket is $70 and a point. the ticket says "Driving Veh in Manner Intended To Cause Excessive Noise" but i was not moving and the truck was in neutral so is that considered "driving". i think the ticket is complete BS. i need some input so i don't look like a jackass at court.

here in MI you are allowed up to 6 points before the state takes action and puts restrictions on your license. If you get up to 12 points they yank your license until they see fit. Often they take it away if you get 8 points or more. Points vary by the ticket the usual 5 over speeding violation is 2 points, wreckless is 3 points or 4 maybe? careless is either 2 or 3. It has to be a moving violation to recieve any points though, something like a seat belt is no points. Each state that has a points system varies though.
Michigan cops are getting worse by the day, they write more and more BS tickets that they always use to look the other way on.

Yes they do expire, but it takes 5 years from the time you recieved the ticket. Then the ticket and point(s) are erased from your record. The only thing that stays on your record more permanently are DUI's and if your in an accident involving any deaths. Points will go away but it will still show on your record.

Well, you admitted to revving up your truck. Which, yes, it is a stupid ticket, I agree. But you did rev up your truck. Pay it and move on.
Some people complain if they get a ticket(for example not using your blinker) but claim they did in fact use their blinker. I say, count how many time you havent used your blinker, here is a ticket for all of those.
