Income level or not, the kid deserved it. And we are talking about a $60k car, I would be more pissed about Tiger Woods' $100m Nike contract he signed a few years ago. Now there is some money that could have made a difference in tons of less fortunate and harder working people's lives.

wife says " where you get the new car?"
he says " oh gm gave it to me cause i played a good game"
wife says " oh okay, ill go put it in the back with the other 20 corvettes that were given to you"

 

I don't think GM did it because they thought he did a good job or even deserved it, their marketing department said, hey, this is a cheap (compared to TV advertisements, production costs, editing, etc) way to market our company and how we are true Americans by supporting this kid. Don't misunderstand them, they are a company out to make money, not a charity.

Ya, well, like TX said, reason we're seeing it as a blatant type of thing is cause he does make a **** ton of $. If this just happened (I mean GM giving a Vette away, not the perfect game part) to the avg. Joe, we'd all just say, Wow! Lucky dude, I wish I could be in his shoes.
