Well about 2 weeks ago my dog was diagnosed with diabetes, and while we were deciding what to do with him (go through with medication or what) he went down hill reallllllly fast, lost about 10 pounds a week, stopped eating all together the other day and would basically lay down all day not sleeping. this morning I got up and he was outside puking up black **** and would just lay down in the grass in the rain and would barely look at me when I went to pet him, anyways I took him to the vet this morning and had to get him put down. Anyone have a pet they absolutly loved and had to get put down?

My chocolate lab I had since I was little, she was 13 when we had to put her down(she had a seisure the morning of). She was a great dog, I now have a black lab but you always remember that one pet you used to have ya know.

I feel for you, dude. Just last September I had to put down Maggie, my Chow/Lab mix, because of kidney failure. She was 12 years old and just a big teddy bear on four legs.
Then just this past month I had to put down the best dog I've ever had. Hank, a beagle, was diagnosed with cancer and only given 6 months to live. I couldn't bear to see him suffer like he was and only prolong his pain. He was just fine one day, then feeling horrible the next, but obviously it had been growing inside him for a while. He just had a heart of gold and didn't wanna show he was hurting.
Just thinking about them both still hits me hard. I loved my dogs and hated more than anything to see them go. Dogs truely are man's best friend.

I feel for you... A couple months ago we had to put my chow down that I've had since I was about 6, stopped eating and just laid on the porche and wimpered, wouldnt even come inside. We almost lost her about 2 years previous to a uterus infection and then about a year before that she developed hip problems. The sweetest Chow you woulda ever met.

Sorry to hear this.A couple years ago I had to put down my 10yo scottish terrier. Great dog, loving, smart, great guard dog, plenty of heart. His back legs just gave out all of a sudden one day. Took him to the vet, they said he had a spinal disease. They later changed that diagnoses to something else when he started bleeding internally. I had to have him put down. I still have his brother(they were born a couple days apart and have always been together), a pug who is just over 12yo now. Cant hear, barely can see, but still running around. Its hard to do it, but just remember him for the good times you had with him.
