how does that law work??? chevy makes a truck with the 6.0 from the factory...

for 1500 i would buy a low milage 6.0 and do the install. then take them to court and get your money. i would also tell the news or whatever. you cant play nice with these guys or theyll give you a deep dickin every time. THEY OWE YOU A 5.3 FREE OF CHARGE. dont let them think you are at fault!

THEY OWE YOU A NEW 5.3 FREE OF CHARGE. dont let them talk you into thinking your at fault.

like i said before, you cant play nice with these guys or they will give you a deep dicking every time. i know some of the service writers, all of the parts managers and most of the mechanics at my local dealership and they will tell you the same(maybe not the service writers). get in their face a little, dont back down and you will get out of this for free.

You shouldn't have to pay anything, this sucks *** but, it has happened and now you have to play the cards the best you can.

I blew the motor in my Lightning back in 2000 and the stealership voided my warranty for having a chip. They tried to blackmail me just like these guys are doing to you "If you pay x amt of $$$, then we will overlook it this time and not void you" I told them to screw off, went and bought a crate motor for 6 grand, fixed the truck myself then got rid of it and vowed to never ever own another Ford or buy anything from Ford Motor. I cut my losses and moved on even though I knew I could win in court.

So.....if you do pay the $1500 and let these jackasses work on your truck again (which I wouldn't do) I suggest you pay with a credit card and as soon as you drive off call the cred card company and file a merchant dispute. If you fill out the affidavit properly you will get your money refunded by the card company. Just a thought for you......

Agreeing to pay means you had part in the engine malfunction. I would not agree to pay one penny.

Just my $.02

I agree with this guy. Another option is to call the local news and tell them there are people protesting the dealership right outside of the building. Then go get a bunch of your friends to stand around with signs saying the dealer blew up your truck. Come up with some more sayings for the signs. I bet if you do this every Saturday the dealership will take note.

I would't give em one damn penny! It was working when you dropped it off, and it was not when you picked it up ... now WHO'S fault is it?! They owe you an engine ... and a huge apology.

I think you should post up the dealerships Phone number so everybody on this site can give them a call about your truck. I know I would definatily give them my opinion on it. Im sure they would give in alittle after about 50 or so of us give them a call.

Sounds to me like you are being a ***** about it. You are letting them stick you and you are letting them. You did nothing wrong yet you are going to pay them money for THEIR screw up. Sorry thats just DUMB. They CAN put a 6L in there and they SHOULD pay for ALL of it. They are the big bad dealership and oyu are letting them scare you. Just like alot of women who go in to buy cars they get intimidated by the sales men and let themselves get talked into a deal that isnt good. Like getting a damn 5.3 for 1500 bucks when your old one only 5K on it to begin with thats dumb. Do what oyu think you must but oyu are getting raped on this deal. Sorry to be so blunt but its the truth.

Why the f**k would you give the dealer $1500 for f**king up your truck? If someone would pay me $1500 to f**k up their truck, I would and love every minute of it, because IT IS NOT MY TRUCK . This is what the dealer is thinking know "wow we screwed this kid over and he if giving us $1500, we should have gone for $2000, $3000, $4000 or maybe we should have told him he needs to buy a brand new truck"

Do like what everyone else has be saying and don't give them a penny, if anything they should pay you for your time without a truck.

As for emissions I think you kinda blew it out the door when you installed your STS.
