I COULD GET MORE WITH MORE FSB.... BUT TO BE HONEST THE 780I BOARD IS DEFINITELY LIMITING MY FSB TO A MAX OF 533 AND TAHT PRETTY UNSTABLE...

NOT TO MENTION A DUAL CORE WILL KILL YOUR CPU SCORE IN 3DM06

Lol nothing new is worth buying... AMD needs to get out a processor on a smaller 45nm so that intel will release the next big thing. Then I will buck up some money but 3 months ago when I built it was $200 to go AMD or $350 to Intel I went cheap...

I'm building my first linux box and picked this cpu up for $30 its pimp...

Well AMD released some new quads today but they still aren't 45nm tech. I need a new case before I buy anything else, I have an easy bake oven with built in grill...

thats what every body says, just wait, don't spend any money now.
6 months ago all the gamers wanted to build a high end DX10 rig and
here soon will see the beta for DX11.
i guess the price on Nahelem will be high on the first gen but as always
when the second gen comes out it is cheaper, faster and does more.

yeah actually the next step is dx10.1 which for some reason nvidia still hasnt embraced... but teh addition of ageia physx is really gonn amake a difference as they optimise the programs to run them

I've been contemplating upgrading my cpu and GFX.
I'm running an ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe board and back when I built it all the good processors where too damn much.
Went with Athlon 64 3500+ (2.2) currently OC'd to 2.442Mhz and a Geforce 7800GT
I was just going to upgrade the cpu and throw in 2 8800 GTX's
But last time i looked there was a few decent cpu's available, Now it's a lil harder to find a good 939 socket. So i'll need to upgrade my board too. If i'm gonna do that, I might as well grab another gig of ram
