thats a pretty open ended question...

for a netbook or very small computer, yea. the atom is a very effecient x86 processor and was designed from the ground up as such. its not the most powerful, and is pretty mediocre compared to dekstop procs, but its extremely effecient and is great for email, and basic internet surfing since the battery will typically last 7-12 hours.

Agree with whats said above, it does not use much power and is good for a netbook or a laptop if you are not tring to run any large programs. I always consider computer CPU's to be kindov like our truck motors, bigger is better.

yea...this is kind of like comparing a moped to a fullsize. the moped is small and effecient and does its job well, but doesnt have the power and versatility of a fullsize

Depends on single or dual core Atom and the chipset behind it. A D525 with an ION chipset makes for a decent home theater build and all the other stuff mentioned above.
Low power usage, can handle blu ray.
I wouldn't try and play new games with it. Crysis, Metro 2033 would lack greatly.

Due to good battery life, I use a netbook for logging with HPT. Once you get used to the tiny screen, it handles everything great.

Is my geeky side showing?
